Project Meetings 4

I met NSH on 16th of September 2008

Work Done:-
In last meeting NSH assigned some work to me, that is to read journals and write down some of the articles which I am interested in. Another task was to take some of the journal URLs from ULRICH'S International Periodicals Directory. So I have done these. I've gained some knowledge and idea about the project.


I have seen some of the core journals of Library and Information Science. They are:

1. Pearl
2. SRELS
3. Information Studies
4. Annals of library Science and Documentation
5. Herald of Library Science

About Discussion:-
I've seen LISA database and some of the Online Journals in NSH chamber. NSH gave some other information about the Project.

Work given:-
1. To search some online Journals
2. To read and know some of the terminologies

Project Meetings 3

In last meeting NSH assigned some works to all the project group members.
They are: - Project reading, Journals reading and LISA database searching. I have done two tasks only

Project reading: -
While referring to old projects I got answers to few questions raised in my mind. I got clear picture about how project report has to be written.

Questions raised in my mind are: -

1. How the project is?
2. What are all the contents it contains?
3. How we should do the Project?
4. What is Methodologies? How we can use methodologies in project work?
5. What are all the objectives include in project?

A Project is a container for all of the issues, source including codes (IT), announcements and other elements that people work on together to produce a result. Apply knowledge of research methodology in analyzing the problems or issues faced by organization. A questionnaire will be developed to facilitate systematic data collection in this study.


Journals reading: -
A work that is published at a regular interval, under the same title, and is intended to appear indefinitely. Journals are often published by a society, association or institution and contain articles about research carried out in a particular subject area.


Abstracts: -
A brief summary of an article or a book that bibliographic information such as authors, title source, subject heading or description etc.,
Abstract is a short summary of the content of a Journal articles, Abstract are often on the first page of an article in a journal.


Purposes of Abstract:

1. It will save the time of the reader
2. It facilitates to search literature
3. It helps in preparation of articles, bibliographies, reviews etc.
